Men's Basketball Goes 1-1 At Three Rivers Classic

The Mineral Area College men's basketball team opened the 2024-25 season at the Three Rivers College Classic, going 1-1. 

On Friday, November 1, the Cardinals fell to John A. Logan College by a final score of 70-47.  In Saturday's opener, MAC struggled from the three point line, going 0-13.  The only Cardinal to score in double figures was Joseph Scott, who tallied 10 points.

MAC bounced back with a win over Dyersburg State CC on November 2, the first under Head Coach Tony Irons.  In Saturday's 106-59 win, the Cardinals received double figure scoring from Preston Turner (17 points), Carl Claxton (15 points), Antoine Thomas Jr. (12 points), Aaron Walker Jr (11 points), Joseph Scott (10 points) and DiAri Duncan (10 points).  Additionally, both Joseph Scott and Preston Turner pulled down double digit rebounds to record their first double-doubles of the season.

With the win over Dyersburg, MAC improved to 1-1 on the early season.  The Cardinals will continue to be challenged when they travel Wabash Valley for a road game on Wednesday, November 6.  MAC then heads to Moberly for the Midwest JUCO Challenge on Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9.  On Friday, Cardinals takes on Southeastern CC followed by Highland CC on Saturday.
