Cardinals Go 2-0 On Opening Weekend

In the first half on game one, Orran Mushet scored for the Cardinals at 24:00 and MAC took a 1-0 lead into the half.  In the second half, ICC scored at 72:00 to tie the score at one, but MAC answered, getting goals from Shay Carey and Chalon Domian to secure the 3-1 win.  The Cardianls sent 12 shots, with 8 on target in the match.

Goalkeeper Josh Wilson played the full game for MAC, making four saves.

 

 

In game two, MAC got off to an early lead when Orran Mushet found the back of the net at 11:00 on a PK.  The match remained 1-0 at the half, but the Cardinal offense eruped in the second half.  MAC got goals from Josh Somerville, Tom Walton, Jack Taylor and Cade Blackmon in rout to a 5-0 win.  Josh Wilson stopped all five South Suburban shots while in net.  Wilson was relieved in the second half by Pedro Jarvie to combine for the shutout. 

 

With the wins on opening weekend, MAC begins the 2023 season at 2-0.  The Cardinals will be back in action on Wednesday, August 30 to open MCCAC and Region 16 play at State Fair CC.
