MINERAL AREA CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS COMPLETED SEASON WITH
SECOND AND 4TH PLACE FINISHES AT NJCAA DIVISION III NATIONAL
CROSS COUNTRY MEET.
JACOB ARNOLD, KYLE VINYARD, DEVIN ST. CLAIR, AND HALEY
HERNANDEZ EARNED ALL AMERICAN HONORS!!!
The MAC Cross Country teams closed out their 2021 season on Saturday,
November 13th with competition at the NJCAA Division III National Cross
Country Meet in Milledgeville, Georgia. Over 30 schools were represented at the
meet and were treated to great weather, a nice course, and a fantastic host in
Georgia Military College. The MAC Men's squad fell just short of winning their
3rd straight National title, finishing 2nd to Joliet Community College by 6 points.
The Lady Cardinals scored a team at the National meet for the first time since the
MAC Cross Country program started 4 years ago, having an outstanding team
race and placing 4th overall. All American honors were earned by 4 Mineral Area
runners who placed in the top 15 overall; Jacob Arnold-5th; Kyle Vinyard-6th;
Devin St. Clair-12th in the Men's 8K race, while Haley Hernandez finished 11th in
the Women's 5K. It was the 3rd straight year for Arnold to win the honor, the
second for Vinyard, and the first time for St. Clair and Hernandez. It was a great
season for the Mineral Area XC teams, with focus now turned toward the 2022
Indoor and Outdoor Track seasons. Complete results for the MAC runners at the
