Cardinals Continue Successful Fall, Ahrens Wins Individual Award
Brad Ahrens Individual Win Lead MAC to Team Title at Principia
The Mineral Area College XC teams kept the start to their season off to a successful one, with meets at Principia College on Friday, September 1st, and the 8th annual Prairie Stars Invitational hosted by The University of Illinois at Springfield on Friday, September 8th.
At the Principia meet, Sophomore Bradley Ahrens ran away with the individual win, pacing the MAC men to the team title. Ahrens ran 20:05 for the 6-kilometer course, followed by Nick Daugherty in 5th (21:22); Nathan St. Clair- 6th (21:43); Elijah Myers-9th (21:56); Brayden Mullins- 10th (21:56); Lucas Smith-11th (22:14); Hunter Tallent- 12th (22:31); Robert Roland-16th (23:27); Levi Wiegand-17th (23:35); and Sam Knight-19th (23:41).
At the UIS meet, race distances increased to 5-Kilometers for Women and 7-Kilometers for the men, with both teams coming in 4th out of 8 schools. Top finishers for the Cardinals was Bradley Ahrens placing 11th in a nice time of 22:42. Complete Mineral Area results were:

The next races for the MAC teams will be on Friday, September 29th in Terre Haute, Indiana at the Nike XC Town Twilight Meet held at the prestigious LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
