MAC Splits With Moberly, Field Dedication Set For April 10

The Mineral Area College softball team came away with a split on Saturday, April 6 against Region 16 and MCCAC opponent Moberly Area.  Following a 5-2 loss in game one, the Cardinals bounced back in game two with a decisive 7-0 win.  Keri Williams dominated the Greyhounds in the circle, to earn her first shutout win of the season.  Offensively, MAC was led by Ainsley Burnett (3 hits, 1 RBI), Leanna Mitts (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Madison Yount (2 hits, 2 runs).

With the win over Moberly, MAC improved to 4-17-1 overall and 2-4 in Region 16 play.  The Cardinals will return to action on Tuesday, April 9 when they travel to Jonesboro, AR to take on Arkansas State University Club.  On Wednesday, April 10, MAC will host John Wood CC for a 1pm double-header.  Just prior to first pitch there will be a dedication ceremony for the new field.
