Cardinals Split With Moberly, Secure #2 Seed In Region Tournament

The Mineral Area College softball team recently split a their double-header at Moberly Area CC on Tuesday, April 23 to secure the #2 seed in the upcoming Region 16 Softball Tournament.  In Tuesday's double-header, the Cardinals dropped a close one in game one, falling by a final score of 4-3.  MAC bounced back in game two, winning by a final of 7-2.

On the season, the Cardinals have been led offensively by Ainsley Burnett (.393 BA, 4 HR, 25 RBI) and Sophie Meyer (.276, 10 HR, 43 RBI).  In the circle, MAC's inning pitched leaders are Taylor Marler (117.1 IP, 4.59 ERA) and Keri Williams (72.2 IP, 2.99 ERA).

The Cardinals will be back in action on Sunday, April 28 at home for their regular season finale against North Arkansas College at 12:00pm.  Sunday's games will also be celebrated as Sophomore Day.  MAC will then turn their attention to the Region 16 Tournament, which begins on Friday, May 3 at East Central College.
