2025 Mineral Area College Cardinals Softball Season Preview

As the 2025 season begins, the Mineral Area College Cardinals softball team is gearing up for an exciting and competitive campaign. With a mixture of NJCAA D1 and D2 opponents, the Cardinals will look to be battle tested before the postseason.

Key Dates and Highlights

Season Opener vs. Dyersburg State
The Cardinals will start the season with a doubleheader against Dyersburg State Community College on February 4th at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM CST. A strong showing in these early contests will set the tone for the rest of the season.

Juco Jam in Branson
One of the early highlights of the season will be the Juco Jam at the Branson RecPlex from February 14th to 15th. The Cardinals will face a series of tough opponents, including Allen County Community College, Coffeyville Community College, Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, and Neosho County Community College.

Midwest Clash
From February 21st to 23rd, the Cardinals will participate in the Midwest Clash, hosting Southeastern Community College, Rend Lake College, and Heartland Community College.

Notable Region 16 Matchups

East Central College

The Cardinals open Region 16 play at home on March 22 against East Central College then travel to Union on April 12 to wrap up their series with the Falcons. 

St. Louis CC

A home double-header against the defending Region 16 champions on March 29 could give MAC a big boost of confidence.  The two teams will conclude their series on April 17 at St. Louis CC – Meramec. 

Moberly Area CC

The Cardinals will play both of their dates against Moberly Area in April with Moberly hosting MAC on April 5th and the Cardinals hosting the Greyhounds on April 19th to wrap up league play prior to the Region 16 Tournament. 

Postseason

The goal for the Cardinals is to win the Region 16 Tournament, which will be held at Mineral Area College from May 2nd to May 3rd. With a talented roster and a challenging schedule, the Cardinals will be aiming to make a deep run in the postseason.
