Multiple Athletes Qualify For National Tournaments As Track & Field Gets Underway
MINERAL AREA TRACK & FIELD TEAMS COMPETED WELL AT PRINCIPIA MEET-ELEVEN ATHLETES QUALIFIED FOR NATIONAL OUTDOOR MEET
The Mineral Area College Track and Field teams got their 2024 season off to a good start with competition at Principia College on Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th. Over 20 schools competed in the 2 day meet, which helped the Cardinals have eleven athletes hit qualifying marks for the outdoor National meet. For the Lady Cardinals, Celeste Sansegraw, Riley Petsch, and Abi Dean all beat the standard for the 5,000-meter run, with Cassidy Herget-High Jump and Kaydence Gibson-Pole Vault joining them as national qualifiers. The MAC teams now prepare for the outdoor season, which starts on Saturday, March 23 at Missouri S&T in Rolla, MO.
