Women's T&F Moves Up To #2 In Rankings, Rique & Petsch Named NJCAA Athletes Of The Week

The Mineral Area College women's outoor track and field team continues to improve and has moved up to #2 in the latest rankings.  On Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, the Cardinals traveled to Cape Girardeau, MO to particpate in the Joey Haines Invitational.  On the women's side, Amaya Rique stood out as the top NJCAA finisher in the 100 meter.  In addition, she also had two PRs.  The performance earned Amaya NJCAA National Track and Field Athlete of the Week for week 3.   In week two, Riley Petsch finished 7th in the 5000 meter with a time of 20:47.26 to earn NJCAA National Track and Field Athlete of the Week as well.    

The Cardinals will return to action on Saturday, April 6 when they travel to Jefferson City, MO to participate in the Lincoln University Invitational.
