MAC's Tremendous Postseason Run Ends At National Tournament
The MAC volleyball team competed in the NJCAA Division 1 Women's Volleyball Championship on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 in Hutchinson, KS. The Cardinals, seeded 15th, faced a difficult matchup in their opening match against #2 Northeastern CC. Against Northeastern, MAC led multiple times in set one before dropping the set 21-25. The Cardinals fell again in set two by a score of 17-25 but came roaring back to win set three (25-21) and set four (25-19) to force a fifth and deciding set. In set five, MAC came up short and fell by a score of 15-5.
The loss to Northeastern CC sent the Cardinals into the consolation bracket where they would take on #10 New Mexico Junior College on Thursday. In Thursday's match, MAC again trailed 2-0 after dropping set one (14-25) and set two (10-25). In set three, the Cardinals bounced back to win 25-23 but dropped the fourth set by a score of 21-25.
The Cardinals finished the season at 22-11 overall and as Region 16 and Midwest District B Champions after a tremendous postseason run.
