Women's XC Team Finishes As Runner-Up At National Meet

The Mineral Area College Cross Country teams finished the 2022 season with competition at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Westfield, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 5th. Both teams brought home National Runner-Up trophies to complete a fantastic season for both squads.  The Lady Cardinals had another outstanding team effort and came within 1 point of winning a National Championship, finishing behind Harper College out of Chicago.  Freshmen Julia Boyher (7th) and Riley Petsch (11th) won All-American honors by placing in the top 15 overall and set the table for the MAC team finish, with Abigail Dean (19th), Ava Laut (20th), and Laura Maddox (22nd) completing the scoring for the women.  Over 30 Division III junior colleges were represented at the National meet, with 93 women and 157 men finishing the races. After some recovery time from the XC season, the Running Cardinals will be back to training for the upcoming Track season.
