Women's XC Finishes 2nd At Region 16 Meet

The Mineral Area Cardinals Cross Country teams started their post season competition on Friday, October 27th, with the Region 16 XC Championships hosted by State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. Despite rainy weather and cold temperatures, the MAC runners put together some solid team running.  The Lady Cards placed a close second to Jefferson College and were paced by individual winner Riley Petsch, who also picked up a National Runner of the Week award the second week of October, when she was the top DIII Juco runner at the Greenville Classic meet.  Joining Riley on the All Region team was Abigail Dean, who placed 4th. Both teams have been slowed by injury and illness for the past month and hope to have everybody healed up by the National meet in 2 weeks.

Both teams will close out their seasons at the National meet in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, November 11th. Hopes are high for both teams to bring home  trophies with top 3 finishes, as well as All-American awards. Let's go Running Cards!
