Women's XC Crowned National Champions

The 2024 NJCAA Division III National Cross Country Championships crowned the Mineral Area College Cardinals as the top team in the nation, marking a historic achievement for the program. With an impressive performance from the runners, the Cardinals claimed the first women's cross country national championship in program history.

MAC's success at the national championship was the result of a well-rounded team effort, with standout performances from both freshmen and sophomores. The Cardinals' depth was on full display, with multiple runners finishing in the top 20, including four in the top 10.

Leading the way for Mineral Area was Alyson Skiles, a freshman, who finished 3rd overall with a time of 19:54.4. Skiles was joined in the top 15 by her teammates Jailey Pigg (6th, 20:08.4), Dakotah Medows (12th, 20:31.5), and Presley Ridings (13th, 20:38.2). Their strong performances contributed significantly to the Cardinals' victory, with Mineral Area finishing with an impressive 4 runners in the top 10 and 5 in the top 20.
